THE SINKING OF THE MAINE

The Maine was an American battle ship. It blew up in Havana harbor on February 15, 1898. It started the Spanish-American war because it was believed to be sabotaged. It turned out to be a coal explosion.

I did this sketch a couple of years ago after seeing the picture in a history encyclopedia that we have. I get a lot of my ideas for drawings from books. I especially like to use black and white pictures.

This is a big buck for Nebraska and I'm a Buckmaster. It is a 10 point. I got a doe too. I shot it in the neck and when I was skinning it the head popped off. I'll post a picture later or tomorrow.

Well, Sam found these horns in our trash pile. We thought of putting them on Bryan's truck or our old van, but then I thought of this and dad immediately told Bryan to screw it on.

Last month I bought one of these radio controlled planes and it didn't work right so we took it back and they gave me a new one and this one worked. I bought it at Harbor freight Tools and I've had five successful flights and it is fun! It has a wingspan of 34 1/4 in. and a length of 29 in. It has a operating range of 1600 feet and can fly for 10 minutes. I bought it with birthday money and money I saved. Maybe I'll post a video sometime.

This picture started out to be Abraham Lincoln shaking some one's hand. But that didn't work so I changed it. Two guys in one picture was just too hard at the time, it still is. Maybe someday.....I added smoke and the little cannon just so it wouldn't have a white background. I drew this about a month ago. AMB copyright

sneaky little boy with slingshot

Mom has uploaded some of my most recent drawings. She enlarges them and enhances the shading with the copier, so they end up looking more like charcoal, but they are pencil sketches. She named this one for me. I don't remember what book I "copied" this picture from. Mom loves it. I'll post about the others in the next few days. This is what I do in my spare time. yesterday's big project

Yesterday Bryan and I cleaned out the garage and boy it was dirty. All the junk out of there filled the back of dad's truck and the trash can too. But it is clean and organized now. I love it because I can get the mower out easily now.

The other day we went to a music store and Abi and I bought jews harps. Our ones worked but the one that Sam bought didn't. So, he bought another one and it didn't work either so he gave up. The jews harp is really fun to play and is really easy to learn to play.

THE WOODPECKER

Last week I found a baby wood pecker. I had never caught a wood pecker before so it was exciting. It can climb trees and bite ears very well. I was riding my sisters bike and I saw it across the street with mama wood pecker. I saw it couldn't fly so I caught it and today I caught it again! We let it go and it climbed all the way up the tree.

Other than that I've been doing nothing because I've been sick. Next post will be my latest drawing.

SOMETHING NEW

The other day we all went to Scheals in Omaha and we bought a badmitten set to play with and after that we went to Wal-Mart in Fremont and bought another tennis racket so we could play four person tennis. We also went swimming and I got a most amazing sunburn. That was day before yesterday and now I'm as sick as a dog.

Earlier Abi and I were playing tennis in the front yard because mom and dad bought some new tennis rackets. Now they go to the park to play tennis for exercise. But we already had two rackets but one was a piece of junk and the other one was old. I also did a little yard work today and I played a football game on the computer. I'm sorry today was so uneventful and I'll try to make tomorrow more interesting.

YARD WORK

A few weeks ago we bought a new lawn mower because the old one broke down. Now it is my job to mow the lawn. I also do other things outside that need done like trim trees, sweep the driveway, scoop dog droppings and so on and so forth. I mowed today. The yard always looks better when I'm done!

MY FIRST POST

So far this summer I have gone to Oklahoma and Kansas. In Oklahoma we brought almost every gun we have and we went hog hunting with our magnificent cousin Michael! Dad shot at one, I saw one, Michael (our magnificent cousin) shot two! Bryan and Sam didn't see a thing. The weather that day was wet and sloppy. It had been raining for weeks.

In Kansas we went to Worlds of Fun and it was a world of fun. We went on four roller coasters and two other rides. We were only there for half a day but it was fun. We met two of our uncles there and a cousin. Then we stayed the night at Uncle Dale and Aunt Mellissa's house. I'll try to post some pictures later. Above are some pictures from the web.
